Hi all
Can anybody help me in finding the serial number of a plane I flew in? The Flight was from London LHR to New York JFK on 02/May/2000 in a Virgin Atlantic A340, flight 25. I now fancy doing a model of a Virgin A340 and would like to do the aircraft I flew in. Any ideas, websites etc?

Thanks
Andy

Andy,

I went to Virgin Atlantic's website and got an email address off the site for amodel inquirey I had.
You can email in your inquirey. You will probably get a reply although it may take time.

Thanks, I'll try and see what happens. Perhaps you know being a pilot, do airlines keep accurate records going back a long time of what planes did what?

best wishes

Andy,

Yes records are kept of every flight completed is recorded in a journey log. These are kept stored by the airlines to meet local regulations. Usually all the data is also kept in a computer storage facility or on some sort of storage device like a disc.

Hi Andrew
I'm gobbsmacked! Hadn't even yet got round to e-mailing Virgin. Assuming you have a very special crystal ball or access to one, can you give me details for the return flight; A340 07/May/2000 JFK-LHR Flight 10. The flight out was better, very empty plane lots of good service from flight attendants & lots of free Baileys. Flight back was packed and not so fun. Also, I don't know whether both a/c were painted in the new livery. I think the transformation was going on at the time.

Thanks very much for your help.

Best wishes
Andy

Hi,

Your return flight, assuming you arrived on British soil on the 8th, would have been on G-VFAR, arriving LHR at 1021Z.

Cheers,
Andrew
