As we know, Boeing assigned the "7" series numbers to their commercial airliner division beginning in 1957 and we have thus far seen all of their efforts from the 707 through 787. Assuming that there will be a 797 sometime within the next 15 years or so, what will come after? Will there be an "8"series or something else?

I doubt anybody knows (yet). Hell, they recycled the 717 designation with no regard for history, so why not just start over with 707? Some pinhead needed a history lesson (upside the head) IMHO.

I think that's why they started to give names again, like 787 "Dreamliner". But, I had to admit: 2707 would be great. If that's the way, I'll look forward to 2727!!! |

It won't matter much after the 797... none of us will be alive to care |

Yeah, maybe... If them would delay as much as the Dreamliner, that will be true |

In the grand scheme of the universe, the delays in the 787 will be utterly insignificant and long forgotten.

Quote You may be right, Sergio! Since they're running out of numbers for the 737 family, Boeing has given the name "MAX" to the next generation of 737's. I hope they come up with more creative names than that for future models |
