Hi all, Today I have basically completed all main parts for the 1:72 scale 722 kit. It is all raw data so far with only a few details but it already depicts the shape of the most beautiful airliner pretty nicely. I could sit for hours at the workbench and just look at her. This is the reason, I decided to share a few photos with you. On photo # 3 you can see the 144 scale sister sitting next to her. ![]() ![]()

Kurt, my, that is truly brillant! I have no other words for that... I will sure be ordering one, but then comes the problem of the livery: there are so many nice and colorful liveries to choose from. Cheers, Steven |

Speaking of decals. To accent this wonderful model you need to create your neat Boeing windshield decal in 1/72 scale.

No vortex generators, simply too difficult without using a 3D CAD program, but for sure the fence on the leading edge flaps. Kurt |

Must.. Resist... Temptation! Oh, the heck with it. I want one, especially if it comes with American Airlines markings. Those red and blue stripes always looked wonderful atop all of that shiny metal, far better than the all white whale schemes we seem to be seeing today. |

Yes, I have made my own PE-parts and it is not as complicated you think. You can get very filigrane results using thin sheet metal. Those vortex generators should be no problem, especially in 1/72 scale.

If anyone can make PE parts for the vortex generators, definitely let us know! I'll definitely want to grab a set for this kit! And I'm very glad to hear that you're planning for clear cockpit windows, Kurt! This is going to be one gem of a model! Speaking of this kit, I think maybe I'll start a poll on what airline decals people want to see for it. Maybe it'll give the right people a good idea of what to make for it. |

I'd probably try to do TWA twin-stripes, being the first 727 I ever flew on (and the first plane I ever got the registry number of). But those would be some BIG decals for the red striping! Even UAL Saul Bass and AA would probably be too large to do the striping as decals.

BEAUTIFUL!!! I can't wait to order one! The raised sill along the bottom of the forward galley door and the three-dimensional detail for the door handle are great. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the gear looks too. Are you planning to include the 727's characteristic ridge along the outer sidewall of the nose gear tires? That nose is a thing of beauty. Looks absolutely spot on. I see you included a vertical line along the tip of the radome for the rain boot. I couldn't tell in the picture, but is the entire rain boot actually a raised detail or is it an indented line? Either way, the detail is incredible on this model. I'm actually wondering if I might be able to pick TWO of them up (depending, of course, on the price) - one with hushkits and one without! Keep up the great work, Kurt! You're clearly doing justice to my favorite aircraft of all-time! |

Thank you so much for the kind comments! You`ll find the raised sill below all cabin and cargo doors. The vertical line on the tip of the radome is neither be raised nor indented. I t is simply a line drawn by a pencil to check if the shape is looking correctly. You will not see it on the production kit. |

Kurt, these masters are simply amazing! Lend them to IPMS Deutschland for a review and I am absolutely certain they will give it a Kit of the Decade tag. Recessed details are so fine and precise, surfaces are so perfect, it looks like you are facing a dilemma: you are going to make your 1:144 727s look crude Joking aside, I look forward to ordering it, I have no doubt it will be worth your asking price. The big question will be what livery to choose? 727s wore too many elegant colour schemes, that will be a tough choice. Do you have photos of the landing gears? Cheers, Steven |

Hey guys, I feel ashamed about all your comments! You`ll find out that it definitely has a couple of flaws. It is simply impossible to make it 100% correct. No photos of the landing gear yet, I am still working on it. The livery question is a big problem, indeed. Kurt |

Ok, just asking because I find easier to cut off flap sections when the track fairings are separate parts. Anyway if you have some sort of reservation or pre-order list, please sign me on for 2 kits. Thank you in advance. Steven |
