      Hi,

I'm in the process of finishing the Welsh Models DC-8-32 in 1/144 scale. The kit has smart looking white metal undercarriages and wheels. When inspecting the main undercarriages I noticed that the vertical legs have a slight tilt but my problem is that I do not know whether they should lean forward or backward. I have tried to find pictures on the net but I haven't found any that could give me a clear answer.

Could somebody help me and tell the correct assembly of the undercarriages.

      Thanks

      Seutula

I'm pretty certain the main gear should angle toward the rear.

Actually....they lean slightly forward (point toward the nose).
This is also true for the DC-9 series. Very slight angle toward the nose.

DC-9 main gear angle about 5 aft. See here to download some excellent drawings:

Err-r... a perfect example of something dependent on one's viewpoint
