I just got my kit from LHS and it's indeed gorgeous!

Anyway, a few observations (not complaints!)The engine looks terrific very nice done, the decal is very basic so if you do like the Factory colors it will gave you a hard time. So I decided to wait for the after market decals. It will be my first Zvezda Airliner, although I do like the B767 from Zvezda as well. So I has to be patient.

Have fun modeling! Bert

Thanks for the pictures Eugene, loved, the engines details are a must

I guess AA will have the RR engines like their chosen for the 777, they dropped the GE after the 767s.

Just got the kit from David Hannant and I am absolutely amazed by the quality, level of detail and advance technology on the kit. Keep it up Zvezda!

Sorry for digging this post up again, but mine arrived today from UK, and along with everyone else who have theirs already there's not much to say except WOW!

I bought two, cos I want to make a -9, but it would be too much a shame to chop up a kit to stretch another. Might just look at making some sort of plug me thinks. I'm guessing I can just fabricate some sort of plug.

The fuselage looks to me like it has a circular cross section too, (maybe slightly off?) so I was thinking some fat aluminium tubing which I can cover with milliput to shape perhaps? I'm not out to make it exact - just good enough to get the appearance of the -9. Would this work you think? Feel free to chime in.

regards
George

P.S I know from one of Jennings posts that the windows for 9 won't work if stretching the kit, but that don't matter as I plan to use a decal (i will print my own).

Hi i have just been doing a similar thing making my own fueselage plugs for the boeing 757 -300 , i had thought of metal but when i was at work i thought maybe plastic pipe so i got a piece of 3/4" PVC PIPE which was just slightly smaller than the 757 fuselage cut it to length and glued it onto the existing minicraft 757 nose cone using loctite super glue , i then used milliput left it to harden for a day , i started to rub it down and the miliput did not stick to the plastic pipe it just pulled off as i was rubbing it back so i then got some humbrol filler applied this to fill the gap up and rubbed it down with some wet an dry

heres a picture of what i have ended up with ( once i join it to the rest of the fuselage i will have to fill again and rub down

the fuselage plug installed ( the picture is not too good was taken in bad light)

a piece of pipe similar to what i used

once i have done this i am going to try the same idea to do what you want to do with the 787

hopw this has given you some help and ideas
