Thanks to our Rodger "Cabforward", we have (2) 'official' Lake Central Boeing profiles! The 737-215C is really RARE as it shows an even more updated version than the famous 737 postcard. (1)-215 & (2)-215C's had been ordered in 1966. The late '67 red "Lake Central" titles are shown plus the "Boeing 737" has been moved to the tail from the previous front fuselage (postcard is shown in "LS" #272). The logo still has the 'Star' symbol which was changed to a Heart and appeared on some of the LCA fleet prior to the late '67 Red tail w/White Heart.
The 727 profile is much better than the (1) in "LS" #272 and clearly shows it was to be a 727C that was to be leased. Other than the 'reversed' logo, it shows the early 1967 appearance with Black "Lake Central" titles and the Black/Red tail logo. Also in the original image, clearly lists the A/C as 727-1E5C, so I corrected the info in the original post. The 727 lease announcement was made in Feb. '67 but the deal fell through, most likely due to Lake Central's growing debt ($4.5 million in 1967 and $2.4 million in the 1st half of '68). The scan that I have must have been a later one as it has the curved White line at the front (like the 737) and the Reg# being moved from the center nacelle, replaced by a 2nd "Lake Central".
