I notice from the AviationMegaStore's website that the much awaited Revell Classic 1/144 Boeing 747 (kit no. 04663) is back in stock and available for immediate delivery. No doubt other sales outlets will also have it available shortly..... Don GCI |

Picked one up in a local hobby store in Wiesbaden, Germany! Lots of flash and a very rough 70 era kit, (as expected) but at least it is somewhat accurate... Quality wins! |

Are we speaking of the E-4B kit? I was surprised to see the cabin windows printed in blue (?!)... which is actually a VERY good decision since the 1/1 windows are painted in... blue. I never spotted that subtlety. It will allow for a slight difference between the blue cheatline and the blue windows since the 1/1 metal frames appear to be painted over, so no visual "references" for the windows. I like this kit, sure it is old and the most recent releases are plagued with lots of flashes, warp and some short-shots but as long as it is accurate... I have 5-6 early releases and they were exquisitely molded, very little flash, no plastic warp and short-shots, a feast for my eyes! |

Too bad that the cockpit window decal is wrong, the shape of the windows isn't correct despite it was designed by DACO |

Quote I remember a nice touch from Danny Coremans on some of his nice Skyline decal sheets: he would provide 2 sets of door decals, 1 set that fitted perfectly the kits recessed doors (which in the Minicraft 757 kit were probably inaccurate) and 1 set that was 1/1 accurate. Anyway, when I am experienced enough to tackle a 1:144 747 kit, I will sure use FCD 747 detail sheets. |

For anyone who's planning to build this kit as an airliner and doesn't need the military-specific stuff (the decals and the extra plastic bumps and bits), please PM me. I can put that stuff to use, and will be glad to work something out with you. Thanks!
