Fellows, I am looking for a Comet Beech Super 18 1/60 scale. Not the Aurora kit since I believe that is a regular 18 in a Super 18 box. I do not care about the box, instructions or decals. I am going to build it and not collect it. If any one has a "surplus" 18, I will be willing to pay top dollar for it or I have lots of kits I can trade for. Thanks in advance, Walter Please contact me at; waltmert(at)hotmail.com |

No luck yet finding the Comet kit, so plan B, Does any one has 3-view diagrams for the Beech Super 18, Volpar 18 or the Turbo 18? I am trying to modify the 1/72 Encore C-45 into Super 18 and Volpar 18's. Crazy eh? Thanks, Walter |

Perhaps for $175 it will be built by a pro-modeler, with all of the modifications you so desire. Otherwise...OOOCCHHHH!

Walt, I know we talked via e-mail about the Be-18, but I probably didn't tell you this: The Comet kit and the Aurora kit are one in the same. The Comet's box art is correct in that the kit is of an E-18S. The Aurora box art shows an H-18S. But the plastic inside is the E version. Comet kit will command a higher price because it is older and thus more rare. BTY, there's no landing gear with the kit, and the engines are molded into the cowlings. But it is a rather accurate model and builds up into a handsome plane. When the cabin was raised 6 inches from the D version, all subsequent version were called Super. Thus, the E, G and H are all Super Beech 18's just so you know. Tom |

Thanks Tom, I found a Comet Super 18 from a fellow modeller on the Scale Modeling Nostalgic group. Talk about a hard kit to find. Now I got to work out the way to modify the 1/72 Encore C-45 to a Super 18. Walter |

Waltmertins if you manage to get a plan of the E-18S I would be very grateful for a copy, many moons ago I worked and flew the Loganair aircraft G-ASUG, that is now in East Fortune near Edinburgh in Scotland, and I would very much like to make a model of it, I have the small scale Comet model,If you want some detail pics of it let me know ? it holds many fond memories.
