Guys,

Has anyone ordered from AHS Airline Hobby Supplies in the past? I ordered 2 months ago and I haven't received my order yet. Has anyone else had this problem with this supplier?

Your thoughts,

Terry

Two months, is about the fastest I have received an order from AHS. I do my very best to make my purchases from any other supplier I can. I get most decals from the makers, use Joy Decal, Pamko Distrubiting, Hannant's, and anywhere else where I can get reliable service.

Keep em separated!

I was told that Russ had recently had a heart attack, so that might explain the delay...

Anybody heard more?

Russel usually does take a while to process orders, as AHS is a one-man enterprise. But such a long delay can only be explained by a serious issue such as J suggested.

Hopefully things should be fine, and you should get your order.

Regards

Eduardo

As Sparky mentioned there's an update on the AHS website dated yesterday so things should be good. Anybody dropped Russell an email? Terry......I'd suggest you email Russell regarding your order. I placed an AHS order about a month ago and got it a week or two later. I was looking for a specific Welsh kit and a fuselage not on the website. A couple of emails were exchanged before placing the order to make sure things were available. Once I placed the order it arrived in a very timely manner.

You can check your order on the website. I waited abouth two months for my order, arrived yesterday, but the information on the site gave me an update about the overall status and therefor I just waited ;-).... so donīt worry!

Always had great service from Russ/AHS. One order might have been a little slow but nothing outrageous.

I usually have my orders within two weeks if it's a current item in stock. It appears that older stock items come from outside sources so it takes longer, I waited about a month for a Bra-z kit. I also beleive some decals have to be ordered but for the most part I get good service. My only complaint would be that a lot of "in demand" items are sold out and never get re-stocked. There are some entire sections that have been mostly sold out for years.

After read all these post, I just have to say thanks God... I have ordered 3 times to AHS, my orders did arrive in less than 2 weeks. No issues with them but I will be carefully.
Sad notice about Russell and I knew also that he was moving too . . .
Wishing that you receive soon your order.

I have ordered from AHS more times than is good for my credit card (or my wife knows about!) and have always been satisfied. The only problem, if you can call it that, was an order early this year that coincided with Russ's move, and was delayed a couple of weeks.

Cheers, Aaron

Just passed on order a couple of days ago without knowing all this, I have ordered many times and never had problems. As was said before, it' s a "one man company" and I' m sure the guy does the best he can so I hope everything' s fine with him.

Unless I would have a very bad experience with Russell, I will continue to use his services.

Regards, Philippe

So far, i've had nothing but great service from ahs.
Not a very frequent buyer i must admit, but it's been a good shop to work with until now.

had ordered 3 or 4 times from AHS, sitting in Germany. OK, it took 3-4 weeks, but was fully satisfied.
Do not be too critical with these shops, there are only 2 handfull in the world and they always try their best.
and think about, they are mostly one man companies as second job. for example "airlinerworld.de" is in first job a driving school and as "hobby" an airliner kit dealer.
I think, you can not feed your children with this enterprise, but they are all with great enthusiasum to satisfy your needes.
be happy that they exist

I disagree, they should still exist to serve the customer, and if they cannot do that, then someone else should fill the void. Sadly, AHS has a stock of out of productions decals that are impossible to find elsewhere, so a portion of the void cannot be filled. Nevermind some "exclusive" rights issues.

I just know my first 4 or so experiences there have driven me away. All of them were large orders that I managed to save up for and were over $400 each and the quickest turnaround was 3 months, and the longest was cancelled. Like I mentioned before, I do my utmost to NOT buy from AHS. These were done before the website was there to give order status, and I never ever got any kind of email or phone call letting me know the status of my order, even when I requested it.

Keep em separated!

I have worked in retail and customer service in my younger days so I have an understanding what can happen behind the scenes .
You can still please the customer and keep the sale as long you keep your customer informed if you fail to do that you will loose your customer .
My story was his total lack of commutation never received an email on my order status and I have to email several times to get a response .
And all my items were in stock and order was placed long before his move .
i hope he will continue to stay in business and maybe hire somebody to run it so maybe down the road i might purchase from him

Over the years I have ordered many items from AHS and have never had any worrying delays in getting my orders processed. Sorry to read that others in this forum have had less than happy outcomes.

Hello,

I've placed several orders with AHS, and he has even helped me to special-order decals for projects, and then shipped them to me. Though I'm sorry to hear some have had problems, that is not the norm and I will happily order from AHS again next time I need airliner things.

Best regards,
Kurt
