Just wondering what these little bars next to member names mean? Mine seems to have changed when I became an Upper Deck member, but I don't know what it means.

It's just a member-level indicator. Regular members get one bar, contributors 2 bars, Upper Deck Members 3 bars, etc. etc. Notice how I have full bars.

Yes, that is correct. You submit an article or something similar, and you become a member of the "Contributors" group.
