I have been thinking of doing a model of the MD-90. I was wondering if anyone can advise me on weather it would be better to purchase the Braz MD-90 tail , engine , and plug conversion , or purchase the Welsh MD-90 kit. If the kit is the way to go does anyone know if it has the pointed trailing edge flap fairings , which are different from the MD-80 fairings , and also the intake scoop on the fwd right side of the fuselage for avionics and inverter cooling. I really want to do two of these birds , and I have quite a few MD-80 kits I can use to convert to the 90. Anyone's help and advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Roswell |

The Welsh MD-90 is very nice and you get the cool Reno Air decal. But the BraZ conversion is a better deal if you already have the Minicraft MD-80 kit. Besides, it is always more fun to do plastic surgery! Walter |

Another vote for the conversion. I have it, and will be using it soon. The fairings and the inlets aren't that difficult to modify or create, and the pleasure of building the Minicraft MD-80 as your base kit makes it even better.

I have not seen the Welsh kit, but my guess is that it is very nice. The conversion is good, but you would be better off using a donor section of fuselage from another MC kit (think MD-87), the insert from Braz is not quite the right diameter, and creates a lot of work. the conversion does turn out nice when finished. You will need to make your own strakes for the engines too. Shameless plug: Keep em separated! |

My plan is the conversion if I ever quit working on prop-liners.I will do two Minicraft kits, one with the Braz engines and tail, but use the second kit for the fuselage extension. The donor kit will be converted to a MD87 again using the Braz vertical fin. Sparky |

That's it XRadar, exactly what I was thinking. Nice job! I love the Reno Air MD-87 as well. But the MD-90 looked best in Delta Widget colors in MY opinion! Walter |

Quote I agree, and have that on my "to do list" or is it a bucket list? And now that I think about it, any modern airliner looked best in the Widget colors! Keep em separated! |

I've had that BraZ conversion for ages but never got round to using it. That Reno Air trio has inspired me to get off my @ss and build it. Great work Steve! On the subject of the Delta widget scheme, I just saw that Ray at Two Six has just released silk-screen decals for the 767 in that very scheme. Al |
