Definitely not another 757 kit!!!!!!!!! Classic's like DC-10 and TriStar would be great! Decals? Liveries? Hmm.....Lufthansa 70s, Alitalia, KLM, JAL 70s and....JAT (!) for the DC-10. TriStar: TWA (Twin Globe), Eastern, British Airways 70s.... |

A DC-10-30 with correct shapes and state of the art surface design in 1:144 scale. Because there is no first choice on the markets. A757 in plastic but only when it is as good as Kurts resin kit and maximum 20€ L-1011 it must be better than the Otaki. A must have Tristar is the LTU but Eastern or Delta would be o.k. too |

On the subject of the DC-10, Contrails have just released much-needed replacement engines (3 variations of CF-6) for the Airfix and Revell kits.

Welsh is about to release a DC-10-30 and they already have an L-1011-200 and 500 that is just as good as the Otaki. Actually better that the Otaki in my opinion since you do not have to fill the trenches(panel lines) on the Otaki kit. "DO NOT BE AFRAID OF THE VAC" Walter |

Looking forward to the welsh models DC-10, though I never tried a vac kit yet. Decals........70's and 80's liveries. I would like minicraft to do a DC-10 and L1011 though that is not going to happen I bet.

I would like to see Minicraft come out with a DC9, -15 or -30. Their MD80s are really good, a classic DC9 would be great...I finally found a couple of old Airfix DC9s, but a new, modern kit is overdue. Jetson (George) |

Quote Jetson I have 2 FLY kits (haven't built them yet). Have you looked into those? Not sure how much would be involved to make it a 14/15 Devan |

Quote I have the instructions on how to convert a DC-9 to a series 15/20 from airline modeler. I am not the worlds best modeler, someday I would like to post photo's of my work, if I could ever get a model that looks good enough. Who knows maybe soon. I hope. On the bench... |

I would agree that a Minicraft DC9 on par with the MD-80 would be most welcome! They could produce a DC9-50 kit and do what they did with the DC-8 kit, having the pre-scribed cut lines there inside the fuselage so you could easily cut it down to be a -40, -30 or a -10. Also, they could have the short or extended wingtips as an option just like the DC-8. Maybe someday!! |

Hi, Let me remind that Kurt is presently developing an 1/144 DC-9-50 which will be the most accurate 9' we will ever get. It should prove a basis for conversion to srs. 20 -> 40. Be aware that the srs. 10/15 had an 1,22 m shorter wingspan than the the rest of the DC-9s. Maybe a quick-fix, though? -Harry B. |

A correct Dc 10-30 in BCAL, Philippine, Northwest Orient and Spantax dress would be nice. L-1011, I would say. Air Lanka, Saudia, Gulf Air, Cathay, Eastern and British Airways (all early 80's). Producer ? Zvezda of course // Matt On The Bench: |

A re-issue of those old kits from Airfix and Revell and Aurora: The AF 1/144th scale Dc-9-30, DC-10, L-1011, VC-10, BAC-111, B-707, etc I mean they have the 727-200 and 737-200 they might as well do all the others with maybe some inprovements on the molds. The Revell, 1/144th 727-100, maybe even do a 727-200 a 737-200, 1/120 Dc-9-10, maybe a Dc-9-30, The 747-200 with the early JT9D P&W engines, DC-10-10 and 30 series, maybe do an MD-11, the old DC-8-63. Aurora: 1/72 DC-9-10 maybe a 30 as well, 737-100 and 200 series. Happy Modeling! Terry |

All great suggestions and while not on the subject of DC-10/L-1011 I just want to add a comment. Cost of a new kit and with several liveries for each aircraft wanted is certainly a consideration. While many of the high end kits are promoted well but cost from $75 to $100 USD for each I'd hope for less expensive kits from well known makers such as Minicraft, Roden, Zvezda, and now F-RSIn with their added injected plastic line. Not all personal preference airline liveries will be satisfied in one kit so a choice of two or three, as has been in practice, should make a good start. An average of $35 USD per kit would be nice so that you don't have to choose just one based on cost. As folks have commented recently with new releases, less expensive does not always equate to poor quality or lack of details. I hope we see new kits, with corrected details, of retro airliners seeing as how the interest in them hasn't waned over the years. Roman |
