Hello All,
Hobby Terra has Amodel TU-104's in stock in case this hasn't been mentioned before. The only other TU-104 kit I recall is OKB's out of production example.

There is also the excellent 1/144 resin kit from Aero Wings (AWM) models (Russia) that came out earlier this year.

Well, there you go. More than I knew of but probably out of my spending limit. Thanks for the clarification.

If I remember correctly, Aurora also did a TU-104 about a hundred years ago.

Yes. It was 1/box scale. Looks like something you'd get in a box of Cheerios. But it sure was cool to build a "Commie" airplane back when!

Make a deep breath. Here are more detailed photos from Maxim, which themselves will tell everything.

Looks like they coaxed the old Matchbox trench digger out of retirement to do the panel lines, but this time they filled him with vodka first.

Disappointing - I wish I had seen these images before I ordered mine...

Oy vay... you're right Wish I'd seen them before I ordered mine too! Wow...

It's certainly no Zvezda Tu-134 is it? Even the Eastern Express stuff looks better than that.

Check out the photos of the Aero Wings Model kit on this site posted by Maxim Finchenko of RWY 19 decals. He did the artwork for the decals. The best 1/144 Tu-104 kit to date. However it is priced in the range of a Authentic Miniatures kit.

Thank goodness! I emailed Hobby Terra and they cancelled my order before it was shipped. Sad, but I can't see paying that kind of money for something that looks like a toy.

Jennings,
Lucky you - mine was shipped by Hobbyterra almost immediately after placing order - unfortunately before I saw pics of the model. The rapid and excellent service of Hobbyterra sometimes works "too well..."
Maybe I can use some parts to upgrade my OKB TU-104..

The Amodel is disappointing as shown in the pics. Why go through the trouble of making a kit like that? At least get up to Roden or Zvezda standards at best. Maybe Z will produce one after the IL-62.
