This is the KMC kit shortened to a -100 with mods to the #2 inlet to make it oval. The shape of the nose is waaaay off! I am starting to wonder what have I gotten myself into?

Here's another view of the old nose. It reminds me of the old Monogram 727...except less accurate:-)

I decided to use Authentic Airliners replacement nose to solve the problem. Here it is with the new nose in place. It is really accurate.

One thing about this kit that is nice are the engines. Even though the fit is poor, the resin detail is good in the inlets and the reverser cascades.

Kurt's resin nose really makes building this kit a good option. Lots of sanding ahead. I still have my work cut out for me, though.

The ovalized inlet for the -100 required some surgery. Lots more sanding and filling to do still...

Since the gear will be in transit on the completed model, it required a scratchbuilt main landing gear well. I should be starting on the wings, flaps and slats next week.

The wings are correct in shape from above, but the thickness needed a little work.

Thank goodness for gap filling superglue!! The fit is a real sore spot on the KMC kit. I will be concentrating on the main gear well some more. More filling and sanding to do....
