This is what 2 DC-10 fuselages chopped up look like. Will become the first MD-11 to take flight!
Forward section of the MD-11 fuselage.
Rear section, notice "screwdriver" shaped tail, still to receive some putty. Will also work on engine #2 shape (bulges), vertical stab fairing, horizontal stab fairing.
Center section, will work on wing roots fairings. All panel lines will be scribed down later on.
Severe cutting on #2 cowling, hope to fill it and get the right shape out of it!
Fan inside #2 duct
Plastic strip to support putty on #2 cowling
Logotypes for launch customers of the MD-11, thanks to Sebastian and David for helping with those! (Guess I\'ll have to re-do the FedEx logo)
Engines #1 and #3 will be those from the DC-10 sanded down to the shape of that used on the MD-11\'s. The left one is ready to be puttyed, right one is \"original\" DC-10 engine, straight from the box.
Wings & winglets, engines and stabs attached!
