Resin PS-90 engines available from Pas-decals.ru (looking OK but quite expensive)

Dear Ray and Jennings,
may I ask whats the status on the announced 26decals and Liveries Unlimited decals?

So far the choice of high quality screen-printed decals for this amazing beast is limited
to Aeroflot (LU) and Iraqi (26). I personally think that the IL76 deserves more attention
from the decal makers - hoping that we all buy what they produce to justify their effort, time and money spent.

Many thanks in advance for considering!

Here are a few examples of stunning schemes...

She looks awesome in her worn, patchy and faded colors. A real challenge to replicate!

as well as the Qeshm, Yas Air, Cairo Air Charter derivatives ...

Cheers,
Christian

I don't disagree with you. I've pulled the Aeroflot project back out of hibernation and started doing a little work on it. I've got a couple of other Il-76 projects in line as well. Stand by

Much as I'd love to do it, Syrian would be a difficult project. You either end up having to wrap blue decal all around the hot dog fairing on top of the vertical fin (not fun to draw or to apply), or else you're stuck trying to do an exact paint match to the blue decal for the rest of the livery. Perhaps someone else is game to try it, but I don't feel like I'd do it justice.

Iraqi on the other hand...

Thanks Jennings, its good to hear that your IL76 project is getting slowly out of hibernation!

I don't know how most of us like to see decals but I would only need screen-printed logos, titles, regs and stenciling because I nowadays paint all larger surfaces including cheatlines.

That not only avoids color mismatch problems but also looks much more realistic (though I have to confess that it includes a lot of taping, which is fun for me.) Large decals just cannot be placed correctly on curved three-dimensional surfaces. Often they would also need to be applied over areas with bumps, humps or dips. So painting is the only accurate solution for that.

So in case of the Syrian scheme all I'd need is the white logo bird and all titles /door outlines.

This painting technique also allows to replicate differently faded/worn/patched cheatline and tail colors as we see them on the real planes.

I guess the Indian Air Force scheme should be easy to realize because there is already a good Fundecal C-17 template that can be used to adapt it to an IL76, right? Despite resizing, it only needs orange door outlines, new regs and IL76MD titles. That would be totally awesome!

Cheers and thanks again,

Christian

Oh, those Chinese aircraft look good. Looking forward to their release. I agree with Christian about the lack of decals for recent model kits, not just this one.

Yes, specially the upper one Chinese looks great to my eye. If it will see the daylight and Air Koryo is also in the game Iīve to buy one IL-76 more.

I made about ten years ago that Iraqi IL-76 using Trumpeter kit (with Braz resin tail cone and 26decals). I painted the green areas as the decals didnīt fit on Trumpeter kit.
I think they were made to fit on Welsh kit. I also used the Braz engine conversion set as the Trumpeter kit engines are quite "clumsy". Luckily the Zvezda kit has useable engines.

And this P-914 is even more beautiful because of the blue Goose behind the cockpit windows. I like that kind of little details. Please no more choices Jennings I can't make up my mind or all my money will go to IL-76 kits

You're going to have to have some more Il-76 kits!

Man... even though I still haven't built my Welsh kit that I bought xx years ago, those LU decals make the Zvezda tempting indeed.

Dear Jennings and Ray,
thanks for the great news on the IL-76 decals!
The planned schemes will look stunning!

Jennings, if you anticipate fewer customers for the Indian Air Force scheme, because its military, I am happy to pay a higher price.
Maybe its just me, but I truly love that scheme on the IL-76...

Cheers,
Christian

My third IL-76 kit arrived few days ago. And after thinking very hard one of them will have the Aeroflot livery, one will be in Air Koryo colors as soon the decals are available and the third one... hmmmm...
Cubana is very nice too but maybe not this time. So it could be the Chinese with that blue greenish belly or if Jennings has still something in his mind...

Hi Christian, I'm not sure if it's the scheme you're looking for but if you can find the Authentic Decals sheet (144-01) online it contains the markings for an Indian Air Force IL-76.

Wolfpack Design have also announced that their Il-76 decals sheets will be release in July!

Hi Vinny,
thanks a lot for pointing at these decals!
I wasn't aware of them!

However, they miss the yellow/orange door outlines and the Indian Air Force roundels seem quite off-centered to the top-left.

I still hope that Jennings is considering this scheme and only if not go with this decal. At least its a back up to consider
as the Indian titles are most important.

Many thanks,

Cheers,
Christian
