Anybody know why the A300 and A310 have their wings mounted so far up on the fuselage?

As opposed to what? The C-5 or DC-9? Your answer might be your question.

Good point Steve, I should have been more specific. Relative to most other widebody airliners with low wings, the 300/310 have their wings mounted very high up. Most others have a noticeable WBF that extends underneath the fuselage, with these two as an exception.

      Because they’re made by Airbus.

Hmm...the picture above looks like the
      grey Luftwaffe Airbus.
      No windows...
The CAD shows Windows - that was my hope...
      The cockpit looks great! 👍
      Anyway....an injection A310 at least!

It's just a guess but could this be a computer generated image to look like a built model?
It's just too smooth and shiny and there are no panel lines on the fuselage or engraved flaps etc.
      Cheers,

I'd about be willing to wager that's a computer-generated rendering of the model. It does look a little too "perfect" to be a physical test-build.

99% this is, what you said. But i guess the will keep on doing their molds without cabin windows, far easier tooling and i guess the demand for windows is not too high...

Amazing. I will be buying at least 5. I hope and anticipate they will be doing a -300 rendition with updated GE's and PW JT9D's/PW4000's.
