      Hey Guys

Where is the most cost efficient / in stock place to purchase Eastern express kits.

They are quite the prolific producer these days. Lots of new airliner kits. Of course some good some bad no comments please.

The price range can be ridiculous.

So i am not in a hurry but want to order some of their kits from a regular reliable place.

      Any suggestions?

      Thanks

      Cheers

PAS Models (pas-decals.ru) has good prices (e.g. the MD-87 for 1400 RUB = 16.35 GBP or 28.85 CAD) but his postage is very expensive and uneconomic for a small order. One good thing about PAS is that he operates real-time stock tracking and if it's on his website it's in stock.

I don't know how it would work in Canada but in Europe it's worth keeping an eye on eBay. There are international sellers based in Poland, Czech Republic, Russia and Ukraine who sometimes offer good prices and relatively cheap postage. I've had good service from eBay sellers 123rus77, alexetyuzhi-0 and pancerka. In most cases the prices were higher than PAS but the postage, certainly to the UK, was a lot cheaper.

+1 for PAS Models. They delivered a large order of models to my friend who was on layover in Moscow. Great customer service!

      Best regards...Duncan

Like dave6376, I use Pas Models and 123rus77 (ebay), depending on overall cost. Also ee-models on ebay and modelsua although the latter's website currently shows most things as out of stock. All provide good and quick service, to me in the UK at least.

And keep an eye on 26Decals. Ray sometimes has limited quantities of bagged EE kits, with or without decals, at bargain prices. I dithered and missed out on the recent HP Heralds but I've had EE Tristars, Short 330, F-27s and Il-18s. I've also had Roden VC10s, Britannias and B720s from him.

      Speaking of Eastern Express....

They had announced their rendition of the DC-10-30 and I see it on their website but it is not yet available...that I can tell.

Has anyone heard if/when this will be released?

On their website, I see it listed as MD-10-30.

      Thanks.

      Thanks for the info.

      I'll check those venders out.

Too bad there wasn't a North America distributor

I'd wager that the total number of kits they sell in North America is vanishingly small.

Not only that, I am also still waiting for the MD11 with PW engines…
A thing I did not expect that it takes so long after the GE-version is out for quite some time now.

There's an eBay seller that goes by "amodels" out of Illinois that sells a wide range of Zvezda, Eastern Express and similar kits. Their prices look a little high at first but the "free" shipping kind of takes some of the edge off, and they ship very quickly. I know I could order from sellers in eastern Europe and save a little bit of money, but this seller lets me work within a system I know and am comfortable with.

      well.

its allways nice to have a new modelkit producer providing us with so many different kits, BUT, obtaining those are really complicated, take a lot of time for shipping and are very expensive, and worse thing is, other more accesible companies are no willing to produce those any more..unfortunately these guys sell by themself and are not willing to have much dealers to sell the products all around...so...

One has to ask which came first however, the chicken or the egg. Is the market small in NA because there's no distributor, or is there no distributor because there simply isn't enough market in NA to make it worthwhile. All evidence I've seen around airliner models indicates it's the latter.

I dont know how is the market in the US, but in Europe is a lot of potential for selling, i think its more the will of this guys to keep business in their own hands and no offering big dealer discounts, they mostly sell over ebay!

I'm not aware of EE having the habit of not releasing things they've shown like this, so I think it's safe to assume they *will* be released. As to when, who knows? Still waiting for the PW4000 MD-11 kit they showed a couple of years ago. They're a very small company with limited resources, so it's not realistic to expect them to do everything fast.

In fact, as far as I know all the processes on EE are not happening as fast as we would like.
Apparently the reason for the delay of production of PW version of the MD-11 kit is the sales of GE version. Perhaps, could be some underwater moments of joint ownership with Micromir. And the sad news is that it is not expected in near future.
Although there may be surprises, like B747SP which are already promised to this year.
