      Hi all

Have somebody of you already got the Eastern Express H.P. Herald "Air UK" EE144125-3? Is there any photo credit on the package?

The photo on the package I took in Jersey in 1983, it is uploaded to Airliners.net and on Wikimedia with my permission under the CC-conditions for attribution and share alike. If there is no attribution on the package it is copyright violation. Otherwise it is OK.

I will contact them although. Until present I was always contacted by companies for use of photos (Herpa is a very good example for this, always very accurate). It is just a question of propriety and fairness.

      Thanks
      Eduard

I would suspect they fall into the "We don't care" category when it comes to using peoples images. There are a bunch of their kits with photos taken from airliners.net without any mention of photo attribution.

Sure, itís a violation, but whoís going to prosecute them? Copyright isnít worth the paper itís printed on if youíre not willing or able to hire an international law firm to file charges in another country. Over a photograph? Is anybody getting rich off of your photo? Doubtful. If you donít want (even copyrighted) photos used without permission, simply donít post them. Thatís the ONLY way to prevent it.

Didn't uploaded any photo to Airliners.net but isn't it possible to set a watermark when uploading. Don't know, don't have any experiences with - just asking.

Sure, you can put a copyright bug on it, but if someone wants to use the photo, it takes five minutes to remove the bug in Photoshop. The **only** way to prevent someone from using a photo posted online is not to post it.
