I picked up one of Kurt's great Trident Threes at Telford and plan to adapt a set of Ray's Trident One/Two BEA Spedjack sets but I need white "Trident Three" titles for the fin.

I'm happy to pay for these of course. Beer tokens (other beverages are available) can be paypalled.

Please PM me if you can help.

      Thanks,
      Roy

Why not use an F-RSIN Trident Three decal? It contains the white titles.

Hi Laurent, I don't particularly want to buy another kit just for the decals.

Edit: I'd asked the same a few days ago on Britmodeller. Ray replied today saying he's doing a BEA and BA Trident Three decal around Easter, so I'll be sorted then.

So is there a way to print white decals? I have a few things I'd like to do sometime that require white.

Three ways (that are widely available):

      1. Silkscreen printing

      2. Alps (not really widely available)

      3. UV curing inks (not really at all widely available, and only from a very high end printer)

Some folks on a car modeling board I follow are experimenting with this:

Thus far the results look promising and the white toner is opaque enough to make the decals look good, even on a model that's painted red. The downside is it's an investment and the toner isn't cheap (the white toner cartridge costs as much as the printer itself), but at least you get a laser printer out of it that you can use for everyday functions as well.

No need to order a full kit. I can supply a standalone decal. I could even have supplied a damaged decal free of charge, with "Trident Three" titles in good condition, but you're clearly not interested.

The biggest problem with that is that it only works with that specific family of HP printers (which are pricey), and the white toner is pretty expensive. The per-unit cost goes WAY up if you're just an average modeler wanting something white once in a while.

If they could come up with a reasonably priced white toner and make it available for any of the more popular brands of printers, they'd have something.

I ordered some samples from the maker (GhostGermany) last year, however white is very weak, not really suitable if you plan it to use on
red or dark surfaces, i was about to purchase it but got to hold my horses.

Laurent, Saying that I'm "clearly not interested" is a bit of a leap, I think! You just suggested using your decal, you didn't say it was available separately from your kit. Had I known that, I would have been interested.
