I am building a Minicraft 777-300. The problem is the Left Wing top is deformed beyond use. It does not appear to me that Zvezda is at fault here. Someone tried to repair this wing either applying heat to it or placing the part in hot water. Then they sold the kit at an IPMS convention 2 years ago when I bought it. Should have checked the contents better. Does anyone have a spare I can use. If not how do I get a replacement part?

If you are in the US, then Minicraft can send you one.

How could Zvezda be at fault for a Minicraft part?

Minicraft or Zvezda? Two completely different models. Was the wing still attached to the sprue? Sometimes Zvezda wings can be warped because the plastic is a bit softer but you should still be able to get it right if the piece hasnít been started.

You lost me after the first sentence. Minicraft never did a T7-300.

Ok, I see I gave some of the readers something to laugh about. Minicraft with a 777-300 I finally got it! What I meant to say was a Zvezda 777-300. Terrific kit I just happened to get one with a very badly warped/damaged left wing top part. It really looks like someone tried to fix it but made it worse. it is for all practical purposes useless because not only is it warped it is misfigured. The part was not attached to the sprue. But I donít see how the manufacturer could have boxed this damaged part with the kit. They are meticulous on their kit packaging, at least from my experience. Would appreciate any help with this.

You got a picture of it? That might help us give a better set of recommendations.

      Good morning from Germany!

I am building or built a dozen of Zvezda's/Revell's (same kit) 777-300.
I would say out of 10 examples 8 have warped wings or stabilizers or anything else. Mostly the wings have this problem and need some extra treatment with hot water or a hairdresser to get it looking straight. And this problem have both issues from Zvezda and Revell.

      Greetings Daniel

Have fun! Life is short enough.

This can be fixed with a lot of patience and time. After dry fitting and sanding if necessary the two halves, you will start gluing tiny sections from the root outward. Start with the wing root and glue no more than half a centimeter of the leading and trailing edges. Tape or secure the halves as they dry. After it is dry, longer is better, glue the next .5 cm. It will be a couple of weeks to do this, but it should be able to make the wings straight. I have done this with 767 wings and a HORRIBLY warped dc-9 fuselage.

      Jaime,

As meticulous in packing as they may be, Zvezda still has occasional hiccups. I got a 787-9 with one fuselage half
completely warped. Best you can do (short of all the corrective suggestions from others) is take a photo of the
damaged part and send it to Zvezda customer service. Sorry, I don't have a link. But IIRC, you'll get a reply from
someone in Austria. I'm pretty sure they'll send you a replacement part. Good luck!

Problem solved! I sent an email to Zvezda late yesterday afternoon with photos of the part. They responded earlier this morning and stated that they would replace the part free of charge. The estimated time of arrival 4 to 6 weeks because the part is mailed from Russia. I can deal with that, the fact that they responded so quickly is really professional on their part. So you can know the email address I used is office@hobby-pro.com I found that address researching this in the forums.

I also considered the option that was sent by FLYHY and that could have worked possible as well. But since the part was not just warped but mis molded or damaged by someone trying to fix it made this not an option for me. I just wanted to take a moment for all of you that responded and gave your ideas. I really appreciate that.

      Thank you
      Jaime
