As hard as I've tried, I cannot seem to find clear pictures that show if the MD-80 had rain gutters above the doors on the port side. It does seem that there is not one on the starboard door though. So, are there gutters on the port side?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Thanks,folks.

Which raises this question: how do you scratchbuild a raised rain gutter on a smooth fuselage?

So many planes, so little time ...

Making rain gutters is not that difficult. You can either use use some of my brothers 3D decal rain gutter decals :https://www.authentic-airliner-decals.de/epages/17895661.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/17895661/Products/D144-2, or you use what I am doing on my master models. I cut out very thin stripes of brown packing tape. After applying it to the fuselage I fix it with some thin layers of MrHobby Mr. Finishing Surfacer 1500.

Thanks for the inputs, fellas. I see by the photo that the forward (port) does appear to have a gutter, but what about the aft port door?

I'll just glue on .010 or .015 rod and call that sufficient.

I have really small diameter rod from Plastruct, so that should do the trick. Thanks.
