Greetings! Actually, the kit looks very good, but........ It looks to be a -400, not a -200. The -200 had a spade door on the nose gear (no side doors) and did not have the lift dumpers on the inboard part of the wing. However.....VERY easily fixed! Although I prefer opened windows over using decals, it looks to be a very good model of a BAC 1-11, if only they do not want $50.00+ per kit. Sooooo..... WHEN???? I still have yet to see the CV-880 kit here in the USA. I-modelist.ru is the only place I have seen it available, and the people who have gotten their hands on it have not said too much about it. I'd love to see more on it here. Anyone care to comment? Regards, Jeff Jarvis God's "Curse" to aviation! |

Quote Gladdens that these issues are fixable. Quote The story with open windows, alas, not about EE, the manufacturer went on a "blind" path. I think even our last hope in the form of windows edging like on the EE A310 didn't take root. The price is confirmed by demand, we can't do anything here, we buy or walk by. Quote Very soon... I can’t say anything about CV-880, I still haven't bought it too. i-modelist is a very good and reputable source, but you need to buy several kits to save on postage. Aeroflot and Veb Plasticart |

Hi Jeff, I am finishing the EE CV-880 right now. I am doing it in the TWA Delivery Livery. I think it is one of the better EE Kits. Along the lines of the DC-9 kits. Still need lots of sanding but it goes together fairly well. I used decals from Vintage Flyer. The ones supplied in the kit are ok but I wanted the delivery livery. The kit comes with the Golden Globes. Can't testify to accuracy but it looks pretty close and scales out pretty good to be 1/144 based on the numbers I got off of the internet doing the research on CV-880's. I would recommend the kit and getting it from Russia. It takes a while to get across the world so don't be in a hurry. No pics yet. Hope that helps, Mark |

Very much like the look of the parts on the sprue, and although it does appear to be a -400, the fuselage sprue below the CAD drawings is labeled BAC-111-200. I'd also like to say that I have had very good luck ordering Eastern Express kits from ebay seller Amodels in Deerfield Illinois. He currently shows that he has 4 Delta Convair 880s available. It appears these are now out on Ebay from ee-models (Eastern Express). $38.90 + shipping to US. I grabbed 2 USAir. Wish they had done the BI jellybean paintjob. Can't wait to see these little jewels. Braniff2 MCI |
