I sure hope somebody does, it was an easy and colorful scheme to do.

The rainbow or the battleship scheme? Do either of them have unique areas that would preclude you from using a decal designed for a longer 747 and cutting it down? The tail stripes on the battleship are the only thing I could think of.

I have no idea as to what youíre talking about?? Fist of all itís not rainbow 🌈 itís TULIP livery which consists of Orange/Red/Blue stripes. Whatís the difference between a -400 or -200 or an SP?? All have a nose, fuselage, tail. So what makes it hard to apply these on an SP versus a -400??

      Ray,

You sound as grumpy as I'm feeling this morning (arthritic knee).🙂

LH707 was suggesting cutting down a longer fuselage decal (like you were), making a relevant point in respect of the battleship scheme as the SP tail is taller and so you'd need more stripes (as provided in Flightpath's decal).

Was the Tulip bigger on the SP's tail? FWIW, I've seen it referred to as the Rainbow scheme too (see here), but generally just as the Saul Bass scheme.

A quick google shows that Classic Airlines does a -200 decal, but the doors are printed on the stripes.

Buzz, thanks for the elaboration, that's basically what I was trying to get at. Even with the printed doors, it's probably possible to cut the right sections out to get the layout you need.

Ray, apologies if my questions came off as short, just making suggestions about using a longer-model decal and cutting it down. Regarding the name, tulip/Bass/rainbow, whatever works. Many nicknames don't match the original 1:1, but do have some resemblance (e.g. "bowling shoe"), which is why people make them up.
