Anyone else a fan of the Air New Zealand "Lord of the Rings" logojets? I would LOVE to model one (or all) of those birds, but Russell over at Airline Hobby Supplies doesn't think anyone will do a decal set of them. Too many colors or something like that. Bummer. I guess I will have to get the Herpa display models.

Cheers from chilly Bucks County, Pennsylvania!

Yah, I think that might be your best bet. But then again, I could be wrong. Simon Glacey did nice profiles of the two jets, which can be seen in the "profiles" section here .

Picked up the 1/200 Herpa 747 "Frodo and Sam" today and it's FANTASTIC!! I thought about it long enough - going through the purchase of a kit, glue, paint, assembly and ultimately the research and time to do the Lord of the Rings pattern - forget it...this is the better path. I'm not one bit disappointed. Already have the Arwen and Eowyn A320 and next on the list is the Aragorn and Arwen 767. I hope they make the Legolas and Aragorn 747...

Hey 200, how much did that set you back, if you don't mind my asking?

      Cheers,

Just shy of $100 Cdn total including tax(15% here). But as I mentioned, everything required to do this aircraft on my own is worth it...

get them they are great models
Heres my herpa 1:200 collection. they also make 2 more 747 LOTR Premium Edition models with crazy details but those are way out of my budget.

747 was limited 3000 produced and is all sold out everywhere
767 should be all sold out by now
a320 is still in production and i bet are going fast
