Any chance we'll ever see the TWA final scheme L-1011 sheet in 1/144 scale? I know those kits are not plentiful, and only one actual aircraft made it into that scheme, but I wonder what interest there is for it. Thanks!

Gio Decals has a sheet. Just visit Alexander's website. Here is a link.

Well, I hope I am not too late, but think twice before you order. Many other forum members have never received their parcel after ordering and paying from this website. I have had limited success meaning that I got one parcel eventually and another refunded, but there are people who were less fortunate.

I recall having seen a liveries unlimited decal sheet for the last TWA Tristar, but it might have been in 1:200 scale.

Good luck sourcing this decal. It will make a stunning plane in the end.

Is that the twin red stripes, red tail with white letters and red solid fuselage titles? I know USAirfix released a kit with those decals. If that is the scheme you are looking for, Microscale did a sheet #44-9 that might will help you if you can find it.

FokkerFan, you're not too late. A friend of mine said there were lots of posts on this site about people who never received their items from Gio. Actually, after looking at the sheet on-line, the red seems a tad too light. I'd prefer to find something reasonably close size-wize and just do surgery. I think the old Liveries Unlimited (?) sheets were beautiful.

Hi Frank (bugs3144). It was the scheme after the twin red stripes. It had the dark blue belly and red lower cheatline with gold lining, the same scheme as on the 757's. Just one L-1011 made it into that classy paint job.

Jennings released a Liveries Unlimited decal for the final colors TWA L1011 in 1/200 (A2-074), but I am not sure if he released it in 1/144 or not. I did release 1/144 sets for the B727, B767 and DC9/MD80. Not sure if that helps...

Typo in previous - instead of "I released" it should read "HE did release"... Sorry for that.

Hi 727flyer, I've seen the LU sheet in 1/200 scale, and it is very nice. To my knowledge Jennings never offered it in 1/144, too bad. I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it existed. I'm thinking I can get an LU 1/144-scale 767 sheet (or two) and do a patch & paste number, I've had a habit of doing that, which yielded good results...and grey hair!

Didn't realize that Teeny Weeny put a tristar in those colors. Yes that would be interesting and I would gladly get one for our museum collection. Actually from looking at picture, fuselage titles and globe would be most difficult part of doing it yourself.
